Is there something wrong with me?

I just had a massage today. First of all I really am not a big fan of full body massages. Last year I had a grand total of 1 massage treatment done and today I realized again why I hate massages. If only the massage lady can see me grimacing in pain while lying face down and actually she did when she asked me to turn over like a piece of meat done one side. I really looked like having an orgasm but a bad one because I was biting my lips just to defuse the pain I felt when she was rubbing or pinching or whatever she was doing that was causing pain. As I literally limped out of the spa they asked If I was getting a second treatment.  I said that I have work forgetting that It was a Sunday and really must have looked stupid carrying a stiff shoulder and with an obvious limp.  Stupid really. :)   Full body massage my a**

Vespa Jamboree in Angono, Rizal

Yesterday my very good friend invited me to attend the 2nd Vespa Jamboree by the Angono Boys. It was my first Jamboree and I am impressed with the camaraderie the Vespa community has to offer. From old friends that I rarely see and to new friends that one makes on such events, everybody had a smiling face (or was it because of the 2 drums of beer, 4 bottles of aguas and 2 bottles of Grand Matador)

The bands were great and I really enjoyed the food as well. To those who has a weak stomach… stomach this menu, Kaderetang Kambing, Papaitan Laman-loob ng Kambing, Kinilaw na Kambing, Sinampalukang Kambing, Ginisang Balaw-Balaw with talong, Fried Itik, Foie Gras/Paté, Adobong Bayag ng Itik, Ulo ng Itik, Sinigang na Bangus sa Miso, Inihaw na Liempo, Inihaw na Isda.

innards galore

I tried everything except for the adobong bayag ng itik (Birds scrotum) and ulo ng itik (Birds head) :) I especially liked the fried itik which was very tasty and will give Max’s restaurant a run for their money on the catch phrase “Sarap to the Bones” (so delicious you will eat even the bones).

amongst the wolves.

A total of 115 scooters came (unofficial count) and as per count they consumed 26 cases of beers and as per yeyey yatco, we have just achieved the most drunks on a vespa :) Now that is something… take that Guinness.

To the organizers and the whole Vespa Community, Thank you very much and Ride safe!  HAPPY ENDING!

Jeff Dunham

I would like to thank Mr. Jeff Dunham for introducing characters like Walter, Peanut, Jalapeno on a stick, Achmed the terrifying terrorist, Sweet Daddy D and Melvin the Super hero Guy. Personally Achmed cracked me up the most. His tag line “Silenceeee, I’ll Killll you! is simply hilarious. I really am hats off to Jeff Dunham for his comedic timing, creative snide remarks and exceptional ventriloquist talent that has me raving about him to all my friends.

Watch Jeff with Achmed the Dead Terrorist and see what I mean… :)

A terrifying….[pause} Terrorist….. priceless teehee! :)

April in Sanfrancisco

I am now in Sanfrancisco for work. The last time I was here was christmas 2007. I still remember that visit because its the holidays so the mall was packed with last minute shoppers (including me) and the really cold weather (now its just 11 degrees) :)

I love it here because it is so much easier being a foreigner here to go around with their efficient public transportation (sam trans and my fave bart train) and its airport is no where near the chaos that tom bradley airport produces. Ive been to the glorious golden gate, the romantic palace of fine arts, sausalito, pier39 and downtown. I also stayed with a very good friend in walnut creek which I also love and miss. I also made it a point to visit the vespa store near franklin street where the very accomodating clerk even gave me souvenir plate holders for my vespa. :)

I am hoping to bump into the mythbusters here because I think they shoot their popular tv show from around here.

As I lay here in my bed recalling the wonderful memories Sanfrancisco has given me, I cant help but fall in love with the city by the bay. rip off! :) sorry Tony :)

I have absolutely no idea how this post will look like or how to attach photo’s for that matter because I am using my new phone (see bad greenhills experience). :) photo’s to follow! Til then…

My Second Vespa

After writing the post about my first Vespa, I really had to write something about my current vespa.  She is after all what I’m considering a keeper.  She is a White PX 150 same as my previous one but unlike the mod setup that I have going before, now I have a simple and just upgraded kit so it goes a bit faster.  Personally I think Ive bonded with this bike most than my previous 3 bikes. :)

Every time I’m off I see to It that i get to take her out for a ride for I heard from fellow vespa riders that your vespa runs better If it receives constant use.  Too bad today I have to go to work.  As I look outside my room, the sun all but invites me to join the summer fun.  I cant wait for my next days off.

Ramiele out of American Idol

Just when I said that she’s gonna pass jasmine trias she gets booted out. I can see she did her best and hopefully this wont be the last we see from her. Congratulations Ramiele for making it this far. I guess back to watching Jun Lozada’s wacky antics for me. :)

My first Vespa

I still remember my first Vespa. She was a fresh PX150 Green that I got stock from a friend of a friend. When I got her, she had a few issues but nothing that 2211 works in Leon Guinto Manila couldn’t fix. Kudos to Nani and the rest of the guys for accommodating me. After they fixed her, she gave me no problems whatsoever. Rode here numerous times to Tagaytay and was my constant companion on errands around the area and when meeting friends in Alabang town center or for my monthly haircut which I don’t really recommend because you end up with a helmet full of hair. :(

mod machine

She started as a very bare green Vespa and as you can see in the picture I added a few accessories to spice things up a bit. :) Her accessories include 6 auxiliary lamp (not working), 4 side mirrors, 2 old school honk horn, vintage rear bumper with mud flap, antenae, hubcaps, white side wall inserts, white rubber inlays, chrome hook, front and rear racks, windshield with custom mod target sign, fender bumper, numerous badges and saddle seat and rear seat. By the time I sold her she was really heavy but i assure you that people will stare leaving comments like “Sarao!” (A local passenger jeepney manufacturer which tend to put a lot of accessories on their jeeps).

She maybe weird but its an acquired taste and she really made me happy when she was with me. I’m really sorry i let her go. Thats what you call a Patrick Starr move. I wonder where she is?… ti adoro mi vespa.

I’m not alone in this world, look at this beauty…

Mod Vespa

Now thats something, I wonder the riding characteristics of this bike. :) Awesome

Must Love Dogs

My love affair with dogs started when I was still very young. I remember being the only sibling who has a constant dog for myself. I don’t have any qualms with me getting all dirty and slobbered with fresh saliva. When I arrive from work I am usually greeted by their smiling faces and enthusiastic wagging of their tails. I will play with them immediately and will have our helper frown at the sight of my mangled and dirty clothes. As I recall I love them all but none more than “Menggay” pronounced “Meng – guy”. She was really a heart breaker, she was indeed very close to me and I remember crying when my Menggay died and I insisted that I bury her by myself in our back yard. :(

After her It all became a blur. Until…

weee

He is my Labrador and for privacy purposes I will not disclose his name. He is the best thing that happened to me. He really is my companion and the reason I haven’t gotten a condo unit and instead aiming to buy a house or a townhouse at least. I can never imagine parting with him. We go everywhere around the village and the neat thing with him is that I dont need a leash to go walk with him. His Credentials include jump, sit, lie down, stay, shake hands and beg. He really is an intelligent dog, he even figured out how to open his cage so i had to place a metal wire around the door so he couldn’t open it.

Recently he had an ear infection and of course being a devoted father we immediately went straight to the vet. Now this vet has been our family vet ever since our very first dog. I was glad to see that familiar clinic where I have both experienced happiness (taking our dog out after a month of confinement) and extreme sadness (having to decide to have one of our dogs put down). After our trip I’m glad to report that his ears are getting a lot better and even has hair growing back!! :)

ride!

To my Doggy, Bark bark, biddibee bark, bark awooooo!

A heartwarming Video

I am a man, and little did I know on this Friday afternoon Manila time I will be touched and moved to tears by a very simple video I found on Youtube.

“Logan is a 13 year-old boy who lives on a ranch in a very small town in Nebraska. Logan listens to Christian Radio station 89.3FM KSBJ which broadcasts from Houston, TX. Logan called the radio station distraught because he had to take down a calf . His words have wisdom beyond his years.” – Frank Lozano
